As a lifelong Vans shoe guy, creating a spec ad for Vans was a thrilling solo project. I dove into the urban streets, experimenting with the new AI Optical Flow feature in DaVinci Resolve to capture black Vans shoes soaring in slow motion. Filming alone, it was a challenge to nail the sharpness and get the shoes flying perfectly in front of the lens with each throw. The AI-generated voice-over, while innovative, still fell short of perfection. While I’m not fully satisfied with the result, I’m already planning an upgraded version to truly capture Vans’ bold skate culture spirit.
